Proof of Stake, a book that contains all of Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin’s writings from the past 10 years, is slated for launch soon — joining the other publications in the race for this year’s crypto-related bestseller title.
According to Buterin’s tweet, the book will be available in both physical and digital formats on September 27th. All of the proceeds from the book sales will be used to fund open-source public goods via Gitcoin Grants.
“Proof of Stake”, the (physical and digital) book compiling various writings I’ve made over the last ~10 years, will be out in a month!

Those who are interested are able to obtain a signed digital copy of the book, as well as a related nonfungible token (NFT), by donating any amount of ETH on the official website.
10% of the pledges made on the book’s official site will go to the publisher, Seven Stories Press, to promote public goods in independent publishing, and the rest will be go to the Gitcoin Grants matching pool.
Alternatively, readers can also purchase the book via several retailers including Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and Walmart.
The description on the site writes: “These writings, collected from his essays before and during the rise of Ethereum, reveal Buterin to be a vivid and imaginative writer, with context from media studies scholar Nathan Schneider.”
In the book, the Ethereum co-founder considers the challenges and opportunities of creating an Internet-native world while those around him were focused on seeing their token value increase.
