The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance identifies Vietnam as one of the most potential markets in Southeast Asia. In 2019, the Exchange has organized 6 events to connect communities across Vietnam, thereby recognizing the dynamism and extremely strong development of this emerging market in the past recent years.
According to Vietnam Briefing, 2019 marked a year of tremendous development in Vietnam with 7% of GDP growth, the highest among Southeast Asian countries. The Fintech industry also achieved an impressive number, accounting for 36% of total investment in Southeast Asia in 2019.
In addition, government support policies are also one of the key factors promoting sustainable blockchain technology in Vietnam. In November 2019, the Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam announced a plan to prioritize blockchain startups in the program namely “Supporting Innovative Startup Ecosystem in Vietnam by the year 2025”; Besides, Ho Chi Minh City also announced its plan to develop Blockchain infrastructure to aid smart city transformation.
Seize this visible potential condition, it’s no surprise that Binance is making their foray into this market by choosing Vietnam as the venue to organize their Blockchain Week 2020. Thereby, Binance will hold their 2nd Blockchain Week in Ho Chi Minh- Vietnam from February 29th to March 4th, 2020. Changpeng Zhao will attend this Blockchain Week along with Binance’s key members and team leaders.
There will also be a competition for developers with the prize amount of up to $100,000 to encourage the practical combination of blockchain technology and the actual needs of enterprises.
