The Ministry of Finance is considering using Blockchain in nine departments under the ministry to facilitate people who use government services.
This includes state-run Krungthai Bank (KTB).
Finance Minister Uttama Savanayana said the adoption of the distributed ledger technology will also help strengthen the Thai economy.
He said the initiative was inspired by the success of its national e-Payment project and state-welfare card project.
Both projects drive the country into Thailand 4.0 era and emphasize leadership in creating community economy.
The ministry will use blockchain technology to enhance the country’s system infrastructure and optimize the performance of administrative procedures in line with the missions of each department.
