Twitter’s boss Elon Musk has said he would abide by the public wish and step down as the chief executive of the social media platform as soon as he finds “someone foolish enough” as his replacement.
On December 19, Musk launched a public poll on Twitter asking his 122 million followers to vote if he should step down as the chief executive of Twitter. In 24 hours, over 17 million votes were cast and over 10 million of them (over 57%) polled in favor of Musk quitting the role. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO had said before the poll that he would abide by the poll outcome but had not given a timeline as to when he would.
Musk who is one of the top movers and shakers in the crypto industry and known for his support for Dogecoin got a few comments from the industry’s top brass. Ethereum CEO Vitalik Buterin said he “respects” the idea of abiding by people’s wishes while Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said Musk should “stay the course.”
Among the many plans that Musk is believed to have is to launch Twitter’s native coin for users to pay for tipping and other services on the social media platform. Besides, the grapevine has that he might use Dogecoin for this purpose.
