Japanese financial giant SBI Holdings aims to pay dividends to shareholders in Ripple (XRP) later this year, with shareholders able to receive a maximum payout of XRP equivalent to approximately 8,000 yen, according to an official announcement on SBI’s website.
Shareholders holding share amounts between 100 to 1,000 as of March 31, and those holding more than 1,000 shares but holding less than one year can choose to receive 2,000 yen worth of XRP or about 18 USD. Shareholders holding more than 1,000 and more than one year will receive 8,000 yen worth of XRP or about 74 USD as their dividend.
However, shareholders that fulfill the above requirements also need to reside in Japan, and they must have registered a trading account on “VC Trade”, an SBI-owned trading platform.
Shareholders are also being offered to choose to receive health supplements from SBI Alapromo, a subsidiary of SBI Holdings, instead of receiving XRP.
Last August, MorningStar Japan, a subsidiary of SBI, similarly proposed to pay its owed dividends in digital assets, specifically XRP.
