Square Enix, a global leader in role-playing video games, has joined blockchain gaming startup Cross The Ages (CTA) as a strategic investor in its initiative — according to the press release.
With this development, Square Enix now enters the expanding group of investors who have backed the video game initiative, alongside Ubisoft and Animoca Brands.
CTA will focus on its development program, talent recruitment, and marketing of its first entertaining blockchain game with the inclusion of Square Enix.
Cross the Ages, a web3-based game platform, has recently worked with various partners to improve and broaden its offers. It teamed up with Bored Box a few weeks ago to make a unique chest.
A prominent layer-2 blockchain created for community-first scalability, Immutable X, and the gaming platform also started working together. Due to the partnership, Arkhante pack owners can access the CTA Trading Card Game (TCG) early.
Sami Chlagou, CEO and co-founder of Cross The Ages, said the company has produced half a million NFTs since the game’s launch last month.
Meanwhile, Square Enix is improving its web3-based services as a source of diversified entertainment content. It recently released the RPG simulation game HARVESTELLA on Nintendo Switch and Steam.
