Top cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced on their blog on 28 November that they have partnered with crypto startup TravelByBit to launch a crypto card. This crypto card acts as a rewards card facilitating crypto payments on major travel websites.
As stated in the announcement, the card will function as a traditional prepaid debit card with additional access to exclusive travel discounts and deals. Users will be able to load their travel cards with various cryptocurrencies such as BTC, BUSD, BNB, and ONT. Once loaded, it can be used to book flights and hotels on popular online travel sites – Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda, Ctrip and TravelByBit.com.
The two companies plan to release the card early next year with an initial target towards ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries, Australia and Europe, with future expansion plans in place.
TravelByBit is not the only service enabling its users to travel with cryptocurrencies. As recently reported by SuperCryptoNews, blockchain-based travel booking platform Travala announced their partnership with Booking.com. As well as our recent product review, Crypto.com facilitates the conversion from cryptocurrencies to fiat, allowing users to make payment through its prepaid debit card.
