Binance has resumed operations in Belgium, three months after the Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) issued an order to cease its services in the country. The cryptocurrency exchange announced the reopening of registrations and access to its products and services for Belgian users who have accepted their updated Terms of Use.
“We are delighted to announce that as of today, new registrations of Belgian residents are welcome on our platform once again. In addition, various Binance products and services are accessible again to Belgian users who have accepted our new Terms of Use,” Binance’s Belgium unit said in a statement on X.
In June, FSMA had directed Binance to halt its services for clients in Belgium, citing a violation of prohibitions due to its provision of services from outside the European Economic Area. Binance responded by shifting its operations for Belgian users to its Polish entity, Binance Poland, which allowed Belgian users to access Binance services.
“We have been overwhelmed by your show of support these past few months, by continuously standing by us. Your patience during these recent changes has been truly appreciated. Thank you for standing by us and being a valued member of our community,” Binance Belgium added.
Until now, Binance Poland used to serve Belgian residents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Belgian users were allowed to maintain access to the Binance platform by accepting the Terms of Use specific to Binance Poland for Belgian users.
