David Schwartz, Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer, recently shared his views on how adopting blockchain-agnostic solutions could accelerate XRP’s adoption and attract more users to the digital asset. In a Twitter thread, Schwartz addressed the frequent inquiries he receives about designing technologies exclusively for XRP. He advised against limiting a technology to work solely with XRP, except for XRPL (XRP Ledger) features.
Schwartz argued that making a technology compatible with various assets would attract a wider audience and benefit those who might not currently be interested in XRP. He also pointed out that numerous technologies don’t work with XRP, making it challenging for users to switch to XRP if it becomes a better fit for their needs in the future.
Therefore, by eliminating barriers to using XRP and ensuring compatibility with multiple assets, Schwartz believes that more people will be drawn to the technology and benefit from improved user experiences.
To illustrate his point further, Schwartz used Google as an example. He explained that if Google had tried to make the internet work only for those using Google products, it would have resulted in fewer internet users, devices, and connections, ultimately limiting the number of people accessing Google’s products and services.
Similarly, by making XRP more accessible and compatible with various assets, more people will be attracted to the technology, leading to a broader adoption of XRP.
Schwartz, one of the co-founders of the open-source public XRP Ledger (XRPL) created in 2012, which uses XRP as its native digital asset, has been a vocal advocate of XRP’s adoption. By advocating for blockchain-agnostic solutions, he hopes to remove any obstacles preventing users from adopting XRP and ensure a better user experience for those who use the digital asset.
