Major music streaming service provider Spotify is currently testing a new feature that enables holders of nonfungible tokens (NFTs) to link wallets and listen to curated playlist.
The service is now accessible to token owners in the Fluf, Moonbirds, Kingship, and Overlord communities. During the three-month test phase, the selected playlists will be regularly updated and accessible only to community members via a special link.
According to a tweet from Web3 gaming and media universe Overlord on Wednesday, the lizard-themed Creepz NFT project’s holders can tether their Web3 wallet to Spotify to listen to the “Invasion” playlist — curated by the project’s community. However, they added that only Android users from the U.S., U.K., Germany, Australia, and New Zealand can access this pilot.
The NFT band KINGSHIP from Universal Music Group also revealed that it has produced a token-gated playlist for NFT holders that included songs by Led Zeppelin, Queen, Missy Eliott, Snoop Dogg, and Missy Eliott.
Apoorv Lathey, the lead developer for the NFT liquidity protocol NFTX, posted a screenshot from the pilot that demonstrated how to get the curated playlist for KINGSHIP on Spotify step-by-step.

The streaming service firm has tried incorporating NFTs into its service in the past. The Wombats and Steve Aoki were among the musicians who were offered the opportunity by Spotify in May 2022 to advertise NFTs on their accounts.
A variety of Web3 music services have emerged to decentralise the music-listening experience. While Royal and anotherblock enable producers to sell music royalties as fractionalized NFTs, Audius, a crypto-linked streaming service, allows customers to receive AUDIO token rewards for using its app.
