Now is the time to see which of the thousands of cryptocurrencies performed the best since 2018.
We took their price values that were recorded on the first day of 2018 and their current price values to determine how much they have grown for the past 3 years or so. Only the digital currencies launched prior to or on January 1, 2021 will be taken into consideration.
10. LockTrip (LOC) — 801%
LOC started the year 2018 at the price of $0.8592. It peaked at $3.49 on January 8, 2018 before shifting downwards to below $2. It remained below $2, except during early November 2018 — until early February 2021. By then, we started to see a significant rise. The current price of $8.2 is its highest record ever.
9. Decentraland (MANA) — 919%
Since its launch in 2017, the price of MANA has remained under $1. Specifically, it was priced at $0.1001 on the first day of 2018. That is until March 14, 2021 arrived, where it would hit $1.12.
8. Uquid Coin (UQC) — 1,185%
On January 1, 2018, UQC was priced at $1.25. Since March 2021, it has steadily increased and hit its first double digit value at $10.55 at the beginning of said month. It is currently at the price of $15.97.
7. Enjin Coin (ENJ) — 1,300%
Between its initial price at $0.1778 to its present price at $2.62, ENJ has grown by approximately 1,300%. By March 3, it exceeded $1 in value and eventually peaked at $2.85 on the 15th day of said month.
6. Binance Coin (BNB) — 4,081%
A single BNB token cost $8.41 back in 2018. It experienced a period of stagnation from its launch until February 2021. During the period between February 1 to February 20, the value of BNB skyrocketed by 632%, which brought its price value to $315. Currently, it is at an all-time high of $362.13.
5. Chainlink (LINK) — 4,120%
From the start of Q3 2020, the value of LINK experienced an increase by 657%, which bumped its value of $4.71 to an all-time high of $35.64 on February 20, 2021. As of writing, a single LINK token costs $31.49.
4. StrongHands (SHND) — 14,993%
Priced at $0.0000007507 in January 2018, it went up to $0.000484 on October 18, 2020 – its highest recorded price – before plummeting back down to $0.000024. The value appears to be slowly crawling its way back up from its fall from January 2021 onwards.
3. Hellenic Coin (HNC) — 37,143%
2018 was not a particularly fruitful year for HNC, being stagnant at best. However, the market has started to experience some noticeable upward shifts sometime around Q1 2020. During the start of January 2021, it broke its first-ever $1 mark. While it briefly went down below $1 during the middle of March, it quickly recovered and shot back up to $2.47.
2. NativeCoin (N8V) — 111,511%
Coming in 2nd is N8V, which increased by around 111,000% from the beginning of 2018 until now; the recorded price of $0.003781 in January 2018 in comparison of its current price at $4.22. Just nearly a month ago, the price of N8V abruptly soared to $3.8, finally exceeding $1 in value for the first time ever.
1. Veros (VRS) — 336,254%
Out of all the listed cryptocurrencies, the market of VRS has seen the most significant change in value since 2018 at approximately 336,000%. Priced at $0.00005518 on January 1, 2018, the price started to experience a positive shift near the end of 2020 and eventually reached its all-time high of roughly $8.2 on January 29, 2021.
